As Sales Department Manager (Shopkeeper) you are or have:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Shopkeeper or equivalent retail leadership role, with proven success in leading people and driving commercial outcomes.
• Robust experience in delivering a commercial action plan for your market, maximising sales and sustaining long-term profitability within an omnichannel retail landscape.
• A considered decision-maker with the aptitude to collaborate across functions, as well as to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
• Strong experience in managing, training and developing people to secure succession and bring together a high performing team, that can contribute to business goals.
• Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.

As Sales Department Manager (Shopkeeper) your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and support Team Leaders to ensure the right number of competent co-workers are in the right place at the right time, ready to support our customers.
• Coach your team to maintain a fully stocked and well-presented shop, where the IKEA product range is showcased in ways that inspire and meet customer needs.
• Share up-to-date knowledge of the IKEA range and services, empowering your team to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Set and follow up on individual and team goals that drive commercial performance and enhance the customer journey.
• Take ownership of your department’s commercial priorities, implementing action plans aligned with national strategies using proven solutions and good examples.
• Actively steer sales to top-selling, prioritised, and service products to maximise profitability.
• Respond quickly to commercial opportunities, including product availability and customer feedback.
• Monitor competitor activity and share insights with your matrix partner in the Service Office.
• Support the development of co-workers through coaching and succession planning, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
• Promote IKEA’s commitment to sustainability, working with your team to contribute to a better everyday life for the many.
