The Growth & Marketing function is at the heart of IKEA's mission to deliver business results and reach our country and commercial objectives. We identify business opportunities and target segments across all channels to grow market share, create and execute marketing strategies based on true consumer insights to attract new customers, build a strong brand, retain current customers, and constantly grow loyalty.
As the Marketing Manager for IKEA Australia & New Zealand, you will lead the marketing function to achieve business results and meet country and commercial objectives. Your role involves identifying business opportunities and targeting segments across all channels to grow market share. You will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies rooted in consumer insights to attract new customers, build a strong brand presence, retain existing customers, and continuously grow customer loyalty. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Leading the planning and management of resources (people and financial), including budget development, approval, forecasting, and alignment with commercial and functional goals.
• Overseeing agency coordination and media effectiveness to ensure optimal return on investment for marketing activities.
• Acting as a key member of the Commercial Management Team, contributing to IKEA’s business plan, commercial calendar, and holistic marketing strategies to drive growth, enhance brand positioning, and activate customers.
• Developing and implementing integrated marketing and media plans, crafting captivating communication content and customer-focused strategies to generate demand, maximise media ROI, and cultivate long-term consumer relationships.
• Ensure customer-centric solutions are implemented across all media and channels, overseeing critical phases of the customer journey. You will lead initiatives to maintain IKEA's relevance in each market, fostering cross-functional connections for commercial viability.
• Leading, coaching, and transforming the marketing function, promoting interdependent leadership and collaboration across all internal units and external partners. Champion IKEA values and serve as a brand spokesperson to drive engagement and integration.

You are passionate about home furnishings, business, and people, driven to deliver a unique customer experience, achieve commercial objectives, and strengthen IKEA’s position as a leading omnichannel retailer. You possess a broad understanding of consumers and the market from macro, competitive, brand, and business performance perspectives, coupled with extensive knowledge of modern marketing techniques. Your expertise extends to marketing strategies, market segmentation, brand positioning methods, CRM, loyalty programs, and integrated media. You are adept at direction setting, creating strategic and operational goals, and following up on KPIs. You are constantly upskilling yourself to keep up with the latest technologies, tools and skills in your area of expertise and your daily life. With your leadership skills, you can effectively coach and influence your team, communicating in an inspirational way that aligns with the IKEA tone of voice. You embrace innovative approaches to improve performance and are passionate about finding effective ways to deliver on KPIs, understanding the IKEA concept, brand objectives, culture, values, and vision. You are also familiar with change management methods and stakeholder management and possess good knowledge of the IKEA omnichannel reality and online customer behaviours.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
• Formal qualifications in Business, Economics, Marketing, Communications, or specific IKEA relevant training.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in Marketing.
• At least 10 years of proven experience in leading and managing leaders and teams across diverse disciplines.
• Significant experience within the retail sector, with a preference for the home furnishing industry.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic business planning.
• Proven experience with omnichannel customer experience initiatives.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams (creative, commercial, digital) and manage external agency partnerships.

• Permanent, full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
• Location for the role is IKEA Service Office, Tempe, NSW.
• If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a national police check.
