Candidate profile (text) - Default language Join the launch of something special in Galway! IKEA is opening a brand-new Planning & Order Point, and we’re looking for friendly, customer-focused Store Assistants to be part of our opening team.

Bring your energy to our small, fast‑paced store team, where no two days are the same! You’ll play a key role across the store, from welcoming customers and picking orders to operating checkouts and assisting customers on the shop floor with their questions. WHAT WE OFFER

• Start Date: August 2026
• Hourly rate of €15.70 per hour.
• Part time:
18 hours, working 3-4 days per week, including some late evenings and 3 out of 4 weekends
24 hours, working 4-5 days per week, including late evenings and 3 out of 4 weekends
• Full time:
39 hours, working 5 days per week, including late evenings and alternate weekends

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• You have a positive approach, love multi-tasking, and are enthusiastic about being part of the team and can work without supervision.
• A customer first mindset and love the versatility of working in a different area each day, making the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do.
• You are computer literate and able to work with technology.
• You prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available with great attention to detail.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You provide an inspirational shopping experience for our customers working across various departments throughout the day, supporting customers to find the best solutions for their life at home.
• You are excited about the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design, keen to share this with our customers.
• You support maximising sales by ensuring your areas of responsibility are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop. Some products may involve heavy lifting.
