We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, dedicated to advancing IKEA's digital infrastructure and capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). They bridge the gap between development and operations teams by automating workflows and ensuring a smooth development lifecycle.
We expect you to be tech agnostic. You should feel comfortable working with a variety of technologies. Experience with cloud-native app development on GCP – you have a good understanding of cloud storage, databases, serverless and you understand how to use cloud-native in production.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, CloudSQL, and Pub/Sub, or similar cloud-based data processing technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python or Java, and experience with related frameworks and libraries.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with relational databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment of data pipelines, including version control systems like Git.
• Ability to clollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

• Formal qualifications in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or equivalent, working in agile and iterative teams
• Strong programming and data manipulation skills using Python and advanced SQL
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of modern data platforms and orchestration tools, specifically Apache Airflow, dbt, and Apache Spark
• Familiarity with at least two of the databases - BigQuery, Firestore, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch
• Proven experience building system integrations (REST APIs, data ingestion) and working with reporting/analytics tools like Looker/PowerBI/Apache Superset

• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions that address business needs.
• Implementing best practices for reliability, and performance optimization.
• Contributing to the automation of data pipeline deployment and monitoring using DevOps practices and tools.
• Participating in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous learning activities to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.
